Donate Books, CDs, and DVDs

What to donate:

• hardback and paperback books
• adult and children books
• English language and foreign language materials
• CDs and DVDs
• magazines

We do not accept:

• chewed on or exceptionally moldy or dusty books
• VHS tapes
• cassette tapes

How to donate:

Carry the items in a bag to your closest HPL branch. Mark the bag with "TO THE FRIENDS" on the outside (so the delivery team knows where they go).

Or, you are welcome to bring them to our warehouse at the intersection of Bingle and West Little York in the Chase Bank building (closest to CVS pharmacy). Volunteers are usually there Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please call before bringing your donation (713-849-9330).

Plan a Book Drive!

To have a great book sale, we need a lot of books.

If you are looking for a great project, we would like to invite you to start a Book Drive. The Friends' Annual Book Sale is one of the ways in which we raise money for HPL and provide affordable books for the community; another is the Children's Book Sale.

To have sales as great as we do, we need a lot of books. You can help! A Book Drive is an excellent activity for groups or individuals:

• Clubs
• Offices
• Scouts (leadership badges!)
• Schools
• Communities

We will help you!

Let us know your plans, and we will be happy to talk to you about all the steps ahead of time. If your book drive is a group activity, we would love to talk to your organization about the Friends, the Book Drive, and how this is an important contribution.
